Amazing Anti-bullying Conference
On Friday 11th November 2016 the School Council Members in Year 5 and 6 attended an Anti-bullying Conference at Woodchurch High School.
There were lots of children from different schools on the Wirral. Kayte Walsh talked to us about the four main types of bullying:
After that we all moved to the main school hall. We got to chose an activity to carry out then present to the audience.
Jasmine chose to write a rap about anti-bullying. Sean, Jackson and Kim showed cased their creative side designing a poster about anti-bullying.
An hour later, everyone finished their task and presented their hard work to the audience. We watched puppet shows, a news report and a group of dancers. Jasmine was a solo performer in her rap group- well done Jasmine!
Sean, Jackson and Kim took to the stage and confidently talked about their ideas for anti-bullying- well done to you all!
After lunch we had a question and answer session with a panel of education experts. Children from various schools asked questions about bullying, they were answered in full and were very informative.
Finally, Kayte asked each school to write two pledges that they would do when they went back to school.
Our first pledge is that Year 5 and 6 School Council Members will become Bully Busters.
Our second pledge is to make people in the school feel safe and cared for at all times.
Mrs Beedles was very proud of all four pupils who were perfect ambassadors for Portland!
