Autumn Term 2018
Welcome to Year 4. Mrs Moscrop is the year 4 teacher. Mr Evans will also work with the children once a week. We are supported by Miss Whalley and Mrs Avis.
Year 4 are keen to make a good start and we are impressed by their work so far. We are sure they will enjoy this year.
We are going to be very busy this term and have lots of exciting activities lined up. We are reading Ronia The Robber's Daughter in English. This will give us lots of opportunities to produce some exciting, descriptive writing. In our maths lessons using Maths No Problem we will use maths manipulatives to solve problems involving decimals, money and measures. The children will be improving the journaling of their maths thinking.
We will be learning about Journeys and transport, including the journeys Vikings made to our local area.
PE will be each Monday . Children do need pumps or trainers for our PE sessions.
We will continue to learn Spanish on Wednesdays, which we all enjoy.
We will make good use of the ICT suite and will using a programme called Scratch.
Remember all children have access to Times Table Rockstars, Purple mash and Active learn accounts. Some children also have access to IDL.
We visit our school library each Wednesday. I am so pleased to see so many children are enjoying taking the books at home. They are expected to learn their spellings weekly and read at home daily.
Don't forget to check our school Facebook page and Class Dojo.
