Spring Term 2018
Welcome back. Year 4 continue to work with Mrs Moscrop and Mrs Shaw this term. Mr Evans will also work with the children once a week.
Year 4 have impressed us with their work so far and we are sure they will enjoy the Spring Term.
We are going to be very busy this term and have lots of exciting activities lined up. We are reading Spiderwick in English. This will give us lots of opportunities to produce some exciting, descriptive writing. In our maths lessons using Maths No Problem we will use maths manipulatives to solve problems involving multiplication, division and fractions. The children will be improving their journaling of their maths thinking.
We will be learning about the Roman Empire and how the Romans influenced Great Britain. This will include a city study of Chester.
We will be swimming this term the week beginning the 5th February. Children will need their swimming costumes and towels daily for 2 weeks.
We have PE each Tuesday afternoon. Please make sure you have suitable trainers or pumps in school. We will continue to learn Spanish on Thursdays, which we all enjoy.
We will make good use of the ICT suite and will using a programme called Scratch.
All the children have passwords to access the resources on Active Learn. We hope they get a chance to use them outside school. There are computers available at St James' Library. In addition, IDL is available for some children to practise their reading and spelling. If you need a reminder of their passwords, just ask.
We visit our school library each Wednesday. I am so pleased to see so many children are enjoying taking the books at home. They are expected to learn their spellings weekly and read at home daily.
Don't forget to check our school Facebook page and Class Dojo.
